Note

"Henry de Threlkeld obtained a grant of free warren in his estates in Westmoreland as early as King Edward I (1272-1307). A like grant was probably obtained, before this, for the family estate in Threlkeld, County Cumberland ( where he lived). Henry appears to have had the same grant in Westmoreland renewed in 14 Edward II (1320-1). {This was probably his son Henry. --H.L.T.]. He was sheriff of County Westmoreland, England, in 1292. Considering the responsible position he held he must have been a man of mature years, and was probably born not later than about 1250-60. He probably had a brother (or son) Robert." --from Threlkeld Genealogy, Colonel Hansford Lee Threlkeld, 1932
